Screenprinting Fridays

We like to dabble in handcrafted arts. It’s nice to see something you’d designed carried through to completion with your own hands instead of just passing it on to a vendor to finish. It was hot in the non-air conditioned Atlanta Printmakers Studio, but it was a great day that ended with us having created some fun swag to give away.

Riverside wall

Riverside wall

I just love this building in my neighborhood. It heralds the hood with great type and has aged so nicely over the years. Love for my version of this on a tshirt soon.

New Brew

I’ve been homebrewing with some friends for a couple of
years now and love each new batch. This one is particularly
enjoyable. It’s a Bourbon Vanilla Porter with lots of vanilla and
Bulleit Bourbon in the brew. We were surprised how nice it turned
and so, I had to do a label.

NorthPoint’s iBand

Some folks we know from NorthPoint Community Church showed off their iPad prowess and helped celebrate the Christmas season with three original arrangements of Christmas songs as performed on iPads and iPhones. With over 500,000 views and climbing, I’d say people are intrigued. No, iPads won’t replace a real band, but real musicians playing virtual instruments on iPads is pretty impressive. And, yes, we had to download some of the instrument apps for ourselves. They are fun, but we need a bigger band to match NorthPoint’s crew.

Table top from the community table at West Egg Cafe on the West Side, Atlanta. I like this table, but it looks even better with pancakes and bacon on it.

iPhone 4 camera

I just got the iPhone 4 and was curious if the camera showed as big of an improvement over the 3Gs as Apple promoted that it does. Well, so far, I am very pleased. My shots are clear and crisp and even the flash works well. The iPhone camera is no longer a phone camera, it’s a full blown point-and-shoot can that happens to have a phone with it.
More pix and vids are sure to come.
